Our Story

At Nounou, everything begins and ends with noodles.

Rice may be a big part of where Chef Kim comes from, but if you ask him, nothing beats the warm, easy comfort of a good bowl of noodles. That relaxed, soul-soothing feeling is what guides everything we do.

We’re not a traditional ramen shop, and we don’t stick to one country’s style. We call our food “Asian-ish” because it’s inspired by noodle dishes from all across Asia—the ones Chef Kim grew up with, discovered on his travels, and learned to love over time.

In our kitchen, you’ll find a mix of fresh noodles made by our team and bowls inspired by the street food flavors you’d find overseas.

Every dish reflects Chef Kim’s background, his family food, and the experiences that shaped him. Nounou Noodle Bar is simply our way of bringing that warm, comforting noodle love to the East Village.
